The Centre for Green Technology and Sustainability Research (GreenTeXS) at Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) is a pioneering initiative dedicated to advancing sustainable development and green technology in Brunei Darussalam. This centre aligns with Brunei's national vision, Wawasan 2035, which emphasizes environmental stewardship, sustainable resource management, and the transition towards a green economy.

 

Vision and Mission

GreenTeXS’s vision is to become a leading hub for innovative research, development, and application of green technologies that contribute to sustainable economic growth, environmental protection, and societal well-being in Brunei and beyond. The mission of the centre is to:

  • Promote Sustainable Practices: Foster research and development in green technologies that support sustainable industrial practices, renewable energy, and efficient resource utilization.
  • Advance Environmental Conservation: Develop and implement innovative solutions for environmental conservation, pollution reduction, and biodiversity protection.
  • Enhance Education and Outreach: Provide education, training, and outreach programs that promote awareness and adoption of sustainable practices across various sectors of society.
  • Collaborate for Impact: Establish strategic partnerships with industry, government agencies, academic institutions, and international organizations to drive collaborative research and development efforts in green technology and sustainability.

GreenTeXS focuses on several key areas of research that are crucial for Brunei's sustainable development:

  • Renewable Energy: Develop and optimise renewable energy technologies to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
