The Enterprise Office (EO) supports the development and commercialisation of UTB's knowledge, research, intellectual property and expertise.
Our role is to assist in translating UTB's research and capabilities into practical and commercially viable opportunities through technology transfer, licensing, commercialisation and start-up ventures.
We work with researchers, staff, students and relevant partners to identify opportunities, develop pathways to market and create value from UTB's intellectual and technical capabilities.
In line with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s Titah at the 14th UTB Convocation, EO aims to advance UTB’s innovation beyond the laboratory and classroom by supporting the translation of research, ideas and innovation into commercial opportunities, entrepreneurial ventures and market pathways.

Welcome to the Enterprise Office webpage.
The Enterprise Office supports the University in developing opportunities arising from its knowledge, research, innovation and people. Our role is to help move promising ideas beyond the University where they can create value for the University and the wider community.
Universities generate knowledge through research, teaching and engagement. Some of this knowledge has the potential to become new technologies, products, services or businesses. The Enterprise Office supports the process of identifying these opportunities and helping to develop them further.
A key part of our role is the management and commercialisation of intellectual property. We provide guidance on the identification and protection of intellectual property and coordinate the processes needed to develop promising ideas towards commercial application. Depending on the nature of an opportunity, this may include licensing, co-development, technology transfer, or the creation of a spin-off or start-up.
The Enterprise Office also supports entrepreneurship among students and staff. We aim to provide pathways for those who wish to explore an idea, test its potential and develop it into a product, service or venture. This includes connecting them with relevant expertise, programmes, resources and external partners.
We welcome students, academic staff, researchers, entrepreneurs and external organisations to engage with the Enterprise Office. Whether you have an idea, an invention, a research outcome or a collaboration opportunity, we are happy to discuss how we can support its development together.
We look forward to working with you.
