20 May 2025 UTB’s SRI Lab participated at the 49th Indonesian Petroleum Association (IPA) Convention and Exhibition in Jakarta, Indonesia, 20 – 22 May 2025. The SRI team, ‘Amila Fashihah Haji Abu Bakar, Laboratory Research Assistant; Dk Khairunnisa Pg Irwan, Lab Manager; and Abd Adri Wardi, Simulation Engineer, exhibited their work, sharing insights on UTB’s Sand Screen Retention Lab and engaging with industry experts, researchers and key stakeholders. The event offered valuable exposure on international platform and fostered new networking and collaboration across the Asia-Pacific region.

The SRI Lab was established in 2020 from sponsorship of Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) and in collaboration with Imperial College London and University of New South Wales, Sydney. SRI is a research facility dedicated to advancing sand retention testing, numerical simulations and innovative industry solutions for the oil and gas sector.
