Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) Project Showcase 2022 organised by the UTB School of Business (UTB-SB) this year featured about 278 students projects with the theme ‘Transformation through project experimentation’. The event was held at Multipurpose Hall and Common Engineering Block, Phase 3 at the university campus.
Present as the Guest of Honour at the event was Yang Mulia Professor Dr. Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of UTB.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, followed by a welcoming speech by Yang Mulia Dr. Mohamed Saleem Haja Nazmudeen, Dean of UTB School of Business and Chairperson of this year’s project showcase.
The Guest of Honour then officiated the UTB project showcase 2022 followed by a tour of the showcase.
Also present were UTB principal officers; invited guests from the government, higher education institutions, schools and industry partners; staff and students of the university.
The event also incorporated The People's Choice Award to recognise and reward the efforts made by students in their projects. Visitors were urged to vote for their favourite projects at the event. The projects with the most votes will win the award.
From the 278 projects, 70 Final Year Projects and 11 Group Design Projects were showcased by the Faculty of Engineering. About 30 projects were displayed by the School of Applied Sciences and Mathematics. School of Design exhibited about 36 projects, meanwhile, 60 projects were featured by the School of Computing and Informatics. Also joining the showcase were the remaining 71 final year projects from the UTB School of Business.
UTB Project Showcase is an annual event organised by the Schools and Faculty of the University which aims to celebrate the accomplishments of undergraduate students from all Faculty and Schools by highlighting the commendable quality of their projects.
The event provided a platform for the students to showcase and present their ideas and creativity to the visitors. The one-day showcase also offered a chance for private and public agencies to identify potential candidates for possible employment opportunities.
