> UTB PRESENTS THE INAUGURAL UTB-STE CONNECT 2023

Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) proudly presents the inaugural UTB-Science, Technology and Engineering Connect (UTB-STE Connect) 2023. The congress is held in the honour of His Royal Highness Prince (Dr.) Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, The Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, the Pro-Chancellor of UTB conferred the Honorary Doctorate in Technology Innovation.

UTB-STE Connect 2023 is organised and hosted by UTB in collaboration with Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), and Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP). The event will take place at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Berakas and the Rizqun International Hotel in Gadong with the theme, ‘Research and Application for a Better World'. This three-day event is from 23 to 25 October 2023.

Creating a Brighter Future Together

This biennial congress aspires to bring together luminaries from academia, science, research, engineering, industry, and stakeholders to discuss and exchange ideas to create a brighter future together in their respective fields.

UTB-STE Connect 2023 features a diverse programme structured around five conferences and three special feature events, offering a broad spectrum of topics and discussions.

 

Conferences

  1. 9th Brunei International Conference on Engineering and Technology (BICET 2023). Organised by the Faculty of Engineering (FEng) UTB with the theme: ‘Engineering and Technologies for a Cleaner and Greener World’.
  2. 6th International Conference on Applied Computational Intelligence in Information Systems (ACIIS 2023). Organised by the School of Computing and Informatics (SCI), UTB with the theme:’Intelligent and Resilient Digital Innovations for Sustainable Living’.
  3. 2nd International Conference on Business, Management, and Information Systems (ICBMIS 2023). Organised by UTB School of Business (UTB SB) with the theme: ‘Business Innovation for the Sustainable Development Goals’.
  4. 1st International Conference on Agrotechnology, Beverage, and Food (ICABF 2023). Organised by School of Applied Sciences and Mathematics (SASM), with the theme: ‘Technology for Future Agriculture, Beverage and Food Manufacturing’.
  5. ATU-Net 1st International Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Computing, Engineering, and Science Education (InvENT 2023). Organised by the Centre for Innovative Engineering (CIE), UTB in collaboration with Asia Technological University Network (ATU-Net) and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) with the theme: ‘Adoption of Digital Transformation: Social Resilience towards Sustainable Development’.

 

Feature Events

  1. 11th Asia Technological University Network (ATU-Net) Board Meeting: An annual assembly of Board of Directors of ATU-Net members for the review of accomplishments and formulation of future visions.
  2. 2nd UTB University Presidents’ Forum: A platform for university leaders to share insights and strategies. This year’s theme will be on “Rethinking Education Amidst Global Uncertainties”.
  3. 1st UTB Women Leadership Forum: Concentrated on themes such as women professionals, women leaders in STEM, and work-life balance, this forum aims to transcend the glass ceiling. The forum aspires to inspire future women to lead in various sectors and to move beyond women empowerment.

 

 

Mark Your Calendar

The auspicious congress will commence on 23 October 2023 with the Women Leadership Forum in the morning, followed by concurrent conferences. The afternoon session will host the 11th ATU-Net Board Meeting at the Rizqun International Hotel, where achievements and future directions of ATU will be discussed.

His Royal Highness Prince (Dr.) Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, Pro-Chancellor of UTB will grace UTB-STE Connect 2023 to officially launch the congress at the opening ceremony. This day will also feature the 2nd UTB University Presidents’ Forum and concurrent conferences.

The concluding day on 25 October 2023 showcases the Women Leadership Workshop, featuring profound insights and solutions to address global challenges, alongside concurrent conferences.
