In conjunction with Nuzul Al-Quran 1443H celebration, Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) held a virtual religious talk commemorating the event via Microsoft Teams. The event was organised by the Religious Unit of the Student Affairs Office.
Present as the Guest of Honour at the event was Yang Mulia Dr. Hajah Ena Kartina binti Haji Abdul Rahman, Acting Vice-Chancellor of UTB. Also in attendance were the principal officers; lecturers; staff and students of the University.
The event commenced with the recitation of Al-Fatihah by Yang Mulia Muhammad Irsyad bin Nor Isa, from the Religious and Spiritual EXCO, UTB Student Representative Council (MPPUTB)followed by the reading of Al-Quran, Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 185-186 by Yang Mulia Muhd Waqiuddin bin Irfan and translated by Yang Mulia Muhd Syahmi bin Sunny Syazwan, from the Religious and Spiritual EXCO, UTB Student Representative Council (MPPUTB).
The event then continued with a special religious talk entitled ‘Bertemankan Al-Quran Sepanjang Zaman’ delivered by Yang Mulia, Ustazah Dr. Hajah Halimaturradiah binti Dato Seri Setia Haji Metussin, Lecturer at the Centre for the Promotion of Knowledge and Language Learning, Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali.
The speaker began by explaining the true meaning of Nuzul Al-Quran and continued with brief history of the Quran’s revelation that happened gradually from Allah SWT through Jibril A.S. to Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. She then highlighted the importance of the events by explaining the significance of reading and comprehending each verse from the Quran in order to receive blessings (barakah) from Allah. The Quran serves as a divine guidance for humanity to live on earth, therefore it is very important to use the Quranic teachings in our daily lives.
The event concluded with a Doa Selamat by Yang Mulia Muhammad Zawir Firdaus bin Zamri, Head of the Religious and Spiritual EXCO, UTB Student Representative Council (MPPUTB) and photo-taking.
