30 April 2025 – The Fashion Design and Technology (FDT) Programme at the School of Design, Universiti Tekologi Brunei (UTB), hosted the UTB Degree Fashion Assessment Day. The event, themed ‘KITANI,’ aimed to celebrate Brunei’s culture, identity and heritage.
This event served as an assessment for final-year FDT students, forming part of their learning journey through Fashion Design Studio module and Capstone project. The students showcased their garment collections, with presentations from Nur Fatharani Husna Kaiyisah Binti Othman, Nadhirah Binti Amir, and Nur Izzah Haziqah Binti Abdul Rahim.
Five assessors evaluated the students’ work, including four external assessors from the local fashion industry and one internal assessor. The external assessors were Awangku Md Zulhelmi Bin Pengiran Haji Kamaluddin, founder of BILANG; Fadzil Hadin, founder of Chantique; Dayangku Farhanna Binti Pengiran Haji Md Pura, President of Fashion Designers Alliance and Founder of NA FORRÉR and Dayang Noor Effah Binti Haji Emran, founder of Little Dayang. The internal assessor was Dr Rozia Binti Haji Adenan; Architecture Programme Leader as internal assessor.
Among the attendees were Professor Yulfian Aminanda, Dean of School of Design; Dr Zulkefle Ismail, Deputy Dean of School of Design and Programme Leader for FDT; Dr Saemah Yusof and Dr Nurul Syahida, Academic Staff of FDT.
The event concluded with Dr Zulkefle Ismail presenting certificates to all the assessors.
