14 February 2025 - Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) proudly celebrated the return of UTB’s Eco-Drive Team 2025 from the Shell Eco-Marathon Asia-Pacific & Middle East 2025, held at Lusail International Circuit, Doha, from 8-12 February 2025. The 12-member team achieved remarkable success with their Prototype vehicle, Pahlawan IX, securing 8th place out of 20 teams in the Prototype Battery Electric category and an impressive 5th place among 61 teams in the Safety Award category.
A warm reception at Brunei International Airport marked their homecoming, with Dr.Mohamad Saiful bin Haji Omar, UTB’s Acting Vice-Chancellor, leading the welcoming committee alongside Assistant Vice-Chancellors Dr. Hajah Ena Kartina binti Haji Abdul Rahman (Academic Affairs); Dr. Mohamed Hasnain Isa (Research and Innovation); Dr. Au Thien Wan (Student Services and Alumni); Mr Lim Chui Hua, Registrar and Secretary; and Dr Sheik Mohammed Sulthan, Deputy Director of Centre of Transport Research.
The dedicated team, led by Supervisor and Mechanical Lead Pengiran Dr. Seri Rahayubinti Pengiran Ya'akub and Electrical Technical Lead Haji Azim bin Haji Said, includes talented members Zikry Amani bin Azma'in, Pengiran Ahmad 'Arif Hidayatullah bin Pengiran Haji Rosli, Muhammad Rifqi bin Haji Masnawi, 'Ali Basyiruddin bin Haji Aminnuddin, Muhammad A'zizul Faiz bin Aldi, Dayangku Izz Diana binti Pengiran Yusyeeman, Fatin Amani binti Awang Haji Abd. Azis, Muhammad Aiman Nasruddin bin Muhammad Nasif, Awangku Muhammad Danish Wafiq bin Pengiran Andy Musshaddad, and Darwisyah Hanania binti Mushiri Zulkhibri.
