Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) proudly welcomes back two distinguished students, Basma binti Lachkar, a BSc (Hons) in Communication student, and Md Nur Iman Hakimi bin Mohammad Nur Adenan, a BSc (Hons) in Computing student, following their successful participation in the prestigious 21st ASEAN University Games (AUG) 2024 in Surabaya, Indonesia.
Basma achieved a remarkable feat by securing the gold medal in the Taiji Quan (Women’s) category, representing Brunei Darussalam as a Wushu athlete. Her outstanding performance highlights the exceptional talent and dedication of UTB’s students on the international stage.
In a celebratory reception, Yang Mulia Dr Awang Haji Azman bin Ahmad, the Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the Ministry of Education Brunei Darussalam, and Yang Mulia Datin Paduka Professor Dr Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of UTB, warmly welcomed the returning athletes. They were joined by other distinguished participants from higher education institutions across the region, celebrating the spirit of excellence and sportsmanship.
The event was further enriched by the presence of supportive staff and the families of the participants.
