Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) proudly unveiled its latest achievement, "PAHLAWAN VIII", at the official launching ceremony held in the university's main lobby. The event marked a significant milestone in UTB’s journey towards the prestigious Shell Eco-Marathon Asia-Pacific and the Middle East 2024 competition.

The ceremony commenced with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, followed by a welcoming remark by Afiq Saywan, the leader of the UTB Eco-Drive Team 2024.

The event's highlight was the official unveiling of the UTB Shell Eco- Marathon vehicle "PAHLAWAN VIII" by the Guest of Honour, Yang Mulia Dr Au Thein Wan, Acting Vice-Chancellor of UTB. This momentous occasion was complemented by a multimedia presentation, showcasing the journey of UTB’s Eco-Drive Team 2024 and the cutting-edge technological advancements incorporated into "PAHLAWAN VIII".

With their sights set on the prestigious Shell Eco-Marathon Asia-Pacific and the Middle East 2024 competition scheduled from 2 – 6 July, 2024 at the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit, Lombok, Indonesia. The UTB Eco-Drive Team 2024 is poised to compete in the Battery Electric category with their Prototype vehicle.

The Shell Eco-marathon aims to empower the next generation of energy leaders, and in its 39th year, the 2024 competition offers students from the region an opportunity to test their design, technology, and engineering skills with energy-efficient vehicles, both on and off the track. UTB's involvement in this prestigious event aligns with Brunei Darussalam's national vision of Wawasan 2035, focusing on education development to cultivate knowledgeable, skilled, and successful youths prepared to tackle global challenges.
