The seminar, held in conjunction with the Crown Prince CIPTA Award (CIPTA) 2025 organised by Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) in partnership with Brunei LNG Sendirian Berhad, continued its final day under the theme "Building Bridges Between Innovators, Industry, and Institutions". The event is part of the Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition (MYCE) 2025 under the Tech and Innovation which took place at the Lecture Theatre 2, Library Complex of the university.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Mulia Dr Mohamad Saiful bin Haji Omar, Assistant Vice-Chancellor (External and Industry Relations).
The seminar commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, followed by a welcoming remark by Yang Mulia Dr Ismawi bin Hj Md Yusof, Head of Seminar Committee, CIPTA 2025.
The session continued with a sharing session titled ‘Spreading the Winning Vibes’, moderated by Yang Mulia Dr Md Motiar Rahman, Senior Assistant Professor from the Civil Engineering Programme Areas, Faculty of Engineering, UTB. The session featured presentations from the top winners of CIPTA 2025 competition, including Category 1 (Creating New Product, Process or Technology) by Yang Mulia Fatin Nuratikah binti Hj Asbi from UTB; Category 2 (Modifying Existing Product, Process or Technology) by Yang Mulia Dr Law Kah Haw from UTB; Category 3 (Creating New or Modifying Existing Product, Process or Technology by Young Inventors) by Yang Mulia Lee Jing Jing from Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan; and the Smart Junior Category by Yang Mulia Callum Singh Sekhon from Chung Hua Middle School Kuala Belait. These presentations provided valuable insight into the innovative solutions developed by the participants and served as a source of motivation for the audience.
This was followed by a question-and-answer session, where attendees had the opportunity to engage directly with the presenters. The interactive dialogue sparked further discussion on innovation processes and the journey of transforming ideas into viable solutions.
The programme continued with a forum titled "Pave Way Forward with Stakeholders", moderated by Yang Mulia Pg Dr Haji Azhan bin Pg Haji Ahmad, Deputy Head of the CIPTA 2025 Technical Committee. The forum brought together several key speakers from various institutions and industries.
The first presentation, focusing on feasibility studies, was delivered by Yang Mulia Dr. Sharina Yunus, Director for the Enterprise Office at UTB. This was followed by a session on strategic partnerships by Yang Mulia Malai Ayla Surya Malai Haji Abdullah, Head of External Relations at Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd. The third speaker, Yang Mulia Reuben Chin, Head of Programme Management of Enterprise Development at the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) shared insights into the business process flow. The final speaker was Yang Mulia Awang Shafique Hussain, the Chief Executive Officer of InnovAero, shared a success story highlighting innovation and entrepreneurship. Each speaker delivered a brief presentation, followed by a discussion on opportunities and challenges in bridging innovation with commercial and institutional frameworks.
The seminar concluded with a final question-and-answer session, officially marking the end of the CIPTA 2025 Seminar.
