Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) organised a special religious talk in conjunction with Ilal Hijrah 1447H, to commemorate the Hijrah (migration) of the Prophet Muhammad SAW from Makkah to Madinah, and to celebrate the return of UTB staff who recently completed their Hajj pilgrimage. The event organised by the Religious Unit of Student Affairs took place at the University’s Concourse.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Mulia Datin Paduka Professor Dr Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of UTB. Also in attendance were the Principal Officers, lecturers, staff and university students.
The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Selawat Tafrijiyyah, followed by a religious talk entitled Semarak Hijrah Mencapai Kecemerlangan Yang Mampan was delivered by Yang Mulia Siti Syuhaidah binti Hj Mohd Yusoff, Religious Development Officer from the Islamic Da'wah Centre, Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The event proceeded with Dzikir Marhaban and the traditional merenjis minyak wangi in honour of the Hajj pilgrim Haji Hamdani bin Haji Ibrahim, Bursar of UTB, before concluding with a Doa Selamat for his safe return.
