The Religious Unit of the Student Affairs Office, the ExCo of Religious & Spiritual affairs at Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), as well as the UTB Student Representative Council organised a virtual religious talk in conjunction with the islamic Isra’ Mi’raj 1443H celebration.
Present as the Guest of Honour at the ceremony was the Vice-Chancellor of UTB, Yang Mulia Professor Dr Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman. Also present were the principal officers; lecturers; staff; and students of the University.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Awang Muhammad Waqiuddin bin Irfan, and was followed by a religious talk entitled "Sembahyangku Kerana Allah" by the invited speaker, Yang Mulia Dr Hajah Ummi Fa'izah binti Haji Abdul Rahman, Lecturer at the Centre for The Promotion of Knowledge and Language Learning at Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA).
A discussion on the importance of prayer, especially as a source of strength in one's own life were talked about during the event. Yang Mulia Dr Hajah Ummi Fa'izah binti Haji Abdul Rahman, further emphasized that praying will help us to be more productive, as well as that it is a way for us to become closer to Allah SWT. In terms of its physical aspects, the movements associated with prayer have been proven to provide favorable impacts on long-term health.
