The Minister of Education, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman, visited UTB Campus today to see the COVID-19 SOP preparations for the new semester. The tour of the campus was headed by the Vice-Chancellor, Yang Mulia Professor Dr Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman along with Yang Mulia Dr Mohammad Saiful bin Haji Omar, the Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Industry and Services) as the BCP Lead (Chair) of the UTB-Business Continuity Plan (BCP).

During the tour, the Minister visited one of the Isolation Rooms where he was shown the UTB COVID-19 Drill Simulation Video, to show the readiness of the BCP Front liners in responding to the COVID-19 case at the campus. He then continued to visit the Lecture Theatre 4, where the Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Yang Mulia Dr Hajah Ena Kartina binti Haji Abdul Rahman shared the Academic Continuity Plan (ACP) of the university and explained how lectures and classes are conducted ‘blended’ online and face-to-face.

Also in attendance during the visit were UTB Principal Officers, Senior Officers from the Ministry of Education, and members of the UTB-BCP Team.

The UTB academic semester has started since 10 January 2022, with hybrid teaching and learning through Moodle and Microsoft Teams, while limiting physical activities at the campus. In regards on the announcement from the Ministry of Education, all staff, students, service providers and visitors must perform the Antigen Rapid Test once every week before visiting the campus. UTB achieved a 100% vaccination rate for staff, whilst 99.9% of UTB students are fully vaccinated.
