The Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), Yang Berhormat Mejar Jeneral (B) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin visited UTB today and donated books to the university’s library.
Together with Yang Berhormat the Minister of MCYS from the Ministry were Yang Mulia Hajah Noridah binti Hj Abdul Hamid, Acting Director of Social Services Division; Yang Mulia Hajah Fauziah binti Hj Salleh, Assistant Director of Youth and Sports Development Division; Yang Mulia Awang Mohd Sabri bin Hj Anuar, Chief Executive Officer, Strategy and Policy Unit; and Muhammad Faiq bin Hj Rani, Special Level Administrative Officer.
The Minister and the entourage were welcome by Yang Mulia Professor Dr. Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, the Vice-Chancellor of UTB along with Yang Mulia Dr. Mohamad Saiful bin Haji Omar, Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Industry and Services); Yang Mulia Professor Dr. Mohamed Hasnain Isa, the Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Research); Yang Mulia Dr Haji Sharul Tazrajiman bin Haji Tajuddin, Acting Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Academic); Yang Mulia Mr. Lim Chui Hua, the Registrar and Secretary; and Dr Ahmad Syamaizar bin Haji Ahmad Sabli, Dean of School of Design.
The visit discussed on some collaborative activities under the umbrella of the UTB Executive Development Programmes for Senior Government Officers and Middle Management Officers courses, particularly on the welfare and community projects.It was proposed for MYCS to be included in evaluating projects with communal impacts. Also, to share the outcomes of these projects so that it could subsequently be utilised as reference to the Ministry and its strategic partners to develop possible relevant policies or initiatives. These collaborations also intend to strengthen the partnerships between the ministry and the university particularly in the development and consolidation of the Creative industry for youth in the Sultanate.
This was followed by a visit to UTB library where the Minister handed over about five (5) general Brunei books to the Vice-Chancellor for the University Library.
