A workshop on SPYDUS was held to equip librarians in Brunei with the latest knowledge and skills on data entry.

The workshop hosted by UTB Library was attended by thirty-five librarians from Brunei Library Association (BLA), Higher Institutions, Secondary and Primary Schools held at the UTB Library.

The participants were briefed on the uses of SPYDUS, facilitated by Yang Mulia Awang Haji Abdul Hafidz bin Hj Ali Hassan, Library officer from UTB. The workshop gave an opportunity for the librarians to learn the fundamentals of cataloguing and the basics of handling Machine-Readable Cataloguing (MARC) record, generating new collection as well as loan policies.

SPYDUS is a library management system used by over fifty academic libraries in the country. The SPYDUS LMS automates the full range of library functions including the necessary back end functions such as cataloguing, acquisitions, circulation and reporting.
