In conjunction with Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) Convocation 2025, 150 participants took part in the Khatam Al-Quran ceremony that was held at the Jame’ Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque in Bandar Seri Begawan. Participants consisted of 50 male students and 100 female students.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid, Minister of Development, as Deputy Chair of UTB Council. Also present was Yang Mulia Datin Paduka Professor Dr Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of UTB.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the Guest of Honour, followed by recitation of Surah Ad-Dhuha until Surah Al-Masad by the participants, led by Yang Mulia Awang Muhammad Naqib Ahwazie bin Muhamad Ali Khairi, graduand from Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering.
The event then proceeded with Takhtim and Doa Khatam recited by Yang Mulia Muhammad Irsyad bin Nor Isa, graduand from Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
The Guest of Honour later presented certificates and souvenirs to the male khatam participants while UTB Vice-Chancellor presented for the female khatam participants. The ceremony concluded with a Doa Selamat read by Yang Mulia Imam Abd Aziz bin Abdullah, Religious Affairs Officer, Jame’ Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque
For the upcoming UTB Convocation Ceremony 2025, a total of 566 graduands will be graduating on Wednesday, 3 September 2025 at the Plenary Hall, International Convention Centre (ICC), Berakas.
