26th May 2025 — The Welcoming Reception for CIPTA 2025 (Creative, Innovative Product and Technological Advancement) was held with warmth and distinction at Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), heralding the commencement of this prestigious innovation initiative.
The evening was honoured by the presence of Yang Mulia Datin Paduka Professor Dr Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Brunei, who officiated as the Guest of Honour. Her attendance underscored the university’s commitment to academic excellence and technological advancement.
Distinguished ambassadors, executive officers from Brunei LNG, senior university officials, participants, and UTB staff gathered for an evening that fostered connection, inspiration, and celebration. The event commenced with a religious recital delivered by Ustaz Mohammad Fazalley bin Haji Hidup, Head of the Religious Unit at UTB, invoking blessings for the evening’s proceedings.
Dr Ismawi bin Haji Md Yusof, Acting Chairperson of CIPTA 2025, formally welcomed the guests, followed by an address from Pg Dr Rafidah binti Pg Haji Petra, Head of the Technical Committee. Both speakers highlighted the importance of CIPTA 2025 as a platform to showcase innovation, nurture creativity, and foster technological development within Brunei and the wider region.
The reception concluded with words of sincere gratitude from the organising committee to all attendees for their esteemed presence and support. Guests were then invited to partake in the evening’s refreshments and continue networking in an informal setting.
