In providing Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) students with opportunities to gain valuable insights from industry, about 100 students from various Faculty and Schools attended a career talk at UTB’s Lecture Theatre 2, Library Complex.

The talk was conducted by a guest speaker from Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP), Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Zainab bin Omar, the Human Resource Director.

At the talk, Hajah Zainab shared passionately about ways to develop a growth mindset. She also shared tips on how to communicate effectively and interact confidently for job interview in terms of Punctuality, Ethics, Efforts, Energy, Extras, Body Language, Passion, Learner’s Mindset, Coachable and Attitude.

A Career workshop was also held on the same day at UTB’s Training Room  facilitated by UTB lecturer from Faculty of Engineering, Yang Mulia Dr. Dina Shona Laila. The students were trained with up-to-date techniques and skills to optimise their curriculum vitae which subsequently may increase the employability of the students.

Both career talk and career workshop organised by the Career Guidance Unit of the Student Affairs were designed to provide the students opportunity to review and develop the interpersonal and other relevant skills needed to enhance and steps to pursue their job-hunting activities.
