3 December 2021 – The 'BRU-NAPC Brunei Networked ASEAN Peat Swamp Forest Communities' was awarded the ASEAN Outstanding Engineering Achievement Award for the Year 2021 at the 39th Conference of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisation (CAFEO).
The award was presented by Ir. Haji Mohammad Zin bin Hj Salleh, President of Pertubuhan Ukur, Jurutera dan Arkitek (PUJA) Brunei to the Assistant Professors from the School of Computing & Informatics and Faculty of Engineering, Dr Wida Susanty bin Hj Suhaili and Pg Dr Rafidah binti Pg Hj Petra, respectively.
The project was awarded in recognition of providing solutions to conserve the peatland ecosystem through cross-cutting technologies and for its role in the tropical rainforest environment and attaining the goals of Brunei Darussalam's National Climate Change Policy. The award ceremony took place during the CAFEO 39 Closing Ceremony at the International Convention Centre, Brunei Darussalam.
