UTB officially inducted the new Student Representative Council (MPPUTB) members for the 2022/2023 session during a handover ceremony that was held at the Multi-Purpose Hall, UTB.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah in the presence of the Guest of Honour, Professor Dr. Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Hj Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of UTB.
A farewell speech was then delivered by the former President of MPPUTB session 2021/2022, Yang Mulia Awang Nabil Ridhwan bin Suhili@Suhaili followed by a speech by Yang Mulia Dayang Ummi Salmah binti Haji Mohammad Firdaus, the new elected President of MPPUTB session 2022/2023.
The ceremony also celebrated the end of service for the previous batch of MPPUTB session 2021/2022 members who were presented with certificates of acknowledgement by the Guest of Honour. A total of 204 certificates of acknowledgement were presented to the retiring members of MPPUTB session 2021/2022 to appreciate their untiring dedication and commitments throughout their one year of service.
Afterwards the new council members 2022/2023 recited their ceremonial pledge and the ceremony concluded with the recitation of Doa Selamat.
The ceremony has been organised annually since the establishment of MPPUTB in 2011 to officially introduce the new line of members of the Student Representative Council to the students and staff of UTB. The members were appointed through a strict selection process conducted by the alumni of MPPUTB and UTB staff which included a challenging orientation camp to further test their capabilities and expose them to better understand their tasks, roles and responsibilities as new leaders.
