Advancing Process Engineering Capabilities: UTB Hosts IChemE Aspen HYSYS Workshop

> Advancing Process Engineering Capabilities: UTB Hosts IChemE Aspen HYSYS Workshop

The Chemical and Energy Engineering Programme Area at Universiti Teknologi Brunei hosted an Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) Process Simulation Workshop facilitated by Prof. Ir. Dr. Dominic Chwan Yee Foo, Professor of Process Design and Integration at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus. Open to members of the industry practitioners, academics and UTB students, the workshop provided an opportunity to develop practical knowledge of process simulation using Aspen HYSYS.

The workshop focused on the application of Aspen HYSYS in chemical engineering, connecting engineering principles with practical process modelling and analysis. Process simulation enables engineers to understand process behaviour, assess operating conditions and explore potential improvements. Through the workshop, participants explored the use of Aspen HYSYS for engineering applications. The session also provided a platform for discussion and knowledge exchange with the facilitator.

The workshop supported engagement between academia and professional bodies while promoting professional development and continuous learning. It reflected UTB’s commitment to providing opportunities for students, educators, industry practitioners and the wider community to strengthen their technical capabilities.

UTB extends its appreciation to Prof. Ir. Dr. Dominic Foo and IChemE Education Special Interest Group for their contributions to the workshop, and to all participants and staff who supported its delivery.
