UTB International Culture Day

> UTB International Culture Day

8 August 2024 – Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) held an International Culture Day with the theme “Unity in Diversity” this morning at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the university. The event was jointly organised by UTB Student Affairs Office and the Student Representative Council 2024/2025.

Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Mulia Datin Paduka Professor Dr. Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of UTB. Also in attendance were His excellency Professor Dr. Hamit Ersoy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Embassy of The Republic of Turkiye; Representatives of Foreign Missions to Brunei Darussalam from Oman, Laos, United States of America, Pakistan, Australia, Philippines, United Kingdom, Malaysia, Expatriates of UTB; UTB Principal Officers, staff, and students.

The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, followed by a welcoming remark by Dayang Nurhanan Nazurah binti Haji Muhammad Sani, the Co-Chairperson of International Culture Day 2024, Head ExCo Culture and Student Representative Council 2024/2025.

The Guest of Honour then officially inaugurated the ceremony, followed by a tour of the International Day Exhibition.

The event featured a variety of activities, including games, exhibitions and a photobooth, among various other engaging activities. UTB international students also showcased their cultures, national costumes, dishes, and delicacies.

International Culture Day 2024 meaningfully symbolised global solidarity and unity, honoring the rich tapestry of nations across the world. The occasion featured booths, international culinary delights and a myriad of activities that highlighted global diversity. Additionally, the event promotes valuable connections and relationships with international students.
