Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) held a religious talk to commemorate Nuzul Al-Quran and Majlis Khatam Al-Quran in conjunction with the month of Ramadhan 1444H/2023M. The event took place at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam Mosque, Tungku Link, Gadong.
Present as the Guest of Honour at the event was Yang Mulia Datin Paduka Professor Dr Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of UTB. Also in attendance were the principal officers; lecturers; staff and students at the University.
The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by Awang Muhamad Raziq Aiman bin Haji Rosman reciting verse 3-9 of Surah Ad-Dukhan. Awang Abdul Khaliq bin Saifullizan, member of the Religious and Spiritual EXCO of the UTB Student Representative Council (MPPUTB), provided a translation of the recitation.
Yang Mulia Ustaz Mohammad Nasyith bin Superi, Religious Officer from the Islamic Da’wah Centre, Ministry of Religious Affairs, delivered a talk entitled Bersabar, berikhtiar, bertawakkal dan berdoa menghadapi ujian dengan petunjuk Al-Quran.
The event proceeded with a mass Zuhr prayer and Solar Eclipse prayer, followed by Khatam Al-Quran ceremony. The ceremony celebrated the achievement of eight participants who had completed their reading of the 30 Juz of the Quran.
The ceremony continued with the recitation of Surah Ad-Dhuha until Surah Al-Masad led by Yang Mulia Professor Dr Mohamed Hasnain Isa, Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Research).
Following that Ustaz Mohd Fazalley bin Haji Hidup, Head of Religious Unit, UTB led the recitation of takhthim and Doa Khatam Al-Quran.
The event concluded with Dhikr Marhaban, Doa Selamat and a drive-through donation to 39 orphanages presented by the Guest of Honour.
