The launching ceremony for Tabung Pengurusan Jenazah Bagi Golongan Kurang Berkemampuan yang Beragama Islam was held this morning at the Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB). Present as the Guest of Honour for the event was the Vice-Chancellor of the Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), Yang Mulia Professor Dr. Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman.
The establishment of the Tabung Pengurusan Jenazah bagi Golongan Kurang Berkemampuan yang Beragama Islam is one of the projects undertaken by the participants of the 31st Executive Development Program for Middle Management Officers (EDPMMO), through the Community Outreach Project as one of the Program Modules’ in UTB.
Through the Project, this specific Tabung is established of which will be fully managed by the Council on Social Welfare (MKM) a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) which has long been established to provide assistance for the community within the country and abroad.
During the ceremony, the opening remarks was delivered by Yang Mulia Awang Mohd. Hafiizh bin Haji Osman, a representative of the Muazara Team as the coordinator of the project.
This was followed by a welcoming remarks from Yang Mulia Awang Mohd. Yusof Halim, President of the Council on Social Welfare (MKM) as the handler of the Tabung. The event then proceeded with the launching ceremony officiated by Yang Mulia the Vice Chancellor of UTB together with Yang Mulia President of the MKM and members of the Muazara Team.
In general, the Tabung is aimed to ease the burden of those in need especially in the preparation of necessities and the process of the handling funeral rites. With the Tabung in existence, it will also provide another platform for people who would like to donate for a continous amal jariyah.
