In conjunction with the Crown Prince CIPTA Award (CIPTA) 2025, Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) in partnership with Brunei LNG Sendirian Berhad (Sdn Bhd), held an Executive Seminar titled ‘Green Innovation for Sustainability’ at the Lecture Theatre 2 of the university and virtually via Zoom platform. Organised as part of the Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition (MYCE) 2025, the seminar served as a strategic platform for dialogue among key stakeholders from academia, industry, and government on driving sustainable innovation and fostering collaborative solutions to environmental challenges.

Present as the Guest of Honour at the seminar was Yang Mulia Datin Paduka Professor Dr Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, UTB Vice-Chancellor.

The seminar commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, followed by a welcoming remark by Yang Mulia Dr Ismawi bin Hj Md Yusof, the Head of Seminar Committee, CIPTA 2025. This was followed by the virtual keynote speech by Yang Mulia Professor Dr Wan Zuha Wan Hasan from the Universiti Putra Malaysia.

The session then proceeded with a forum discussion moderated by Ir. Dr. Nor Asiah binti Muhamad, Deputy Head of the Technical Committee for CIPTA 2025. The forum brought together a distinguished panel of experts representing academia, public sector innovation, and the financial and service industry.

The forum featured a panel of distinguished speakers including Professor Dr Wan Zuha Wan Hasan from the Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia; Yang Mulia Hajah Nurul Akmar binti Haji Mohd Jaafar, Head of Service Quality Division, Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD); and Yang Mulia Pg Dr Rafidah Pg Haji Petra, Head of the Technical Committee, CIPTA 2025.

The panelists each shared perspectives from their respective fields, highlighting the evolving needs of industry, the role of innovation in education and service delivery, and the importance of collaboration to create impact-driven solutions. The engaging discussion offered attendees a holistic view of innovation readiness and its application across sectors.

The seminar concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which participants had the opportunity to engage directly with the panelists, further enriching the dialogue and reflections shared throughout the session.
