8 August 2024 - Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) celebrated the successful conclusion of the China-Brunei Overseas Innovation Project Programme (OIPP) with a closing ceremony. This event marked the end of a two-week programme conducted in collaboration with the School of Microelectronics (SME) of Tianjin University (TJU) showcasing the achievements and experiences of its participants.

The OIPP, designed to offer undergraduate students international opportunities, aimed to enrich their learning experiences, enhance creative and practical skills, foster global perspectives and strengthen relationships within ASEAN partner institutions. This particular programme, hosted by UTB's Electrical and Electronic Engineering department, featured the project "Low Powered Robotics – Designing Automatic Tracking Robot Car."

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, followed by a welcoming remark from Dr Lim Tiong Hoo, UTB OIPP Leader. His Excellency Mr Xia0 Jianguo, Ambassador of The People’s Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam, also delivered his remarks. Yang Mulia Datin Paduka Professor Dr Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Vice- Chancellor of UTB, was present for this event.

Participants then shared their experiences through a representative, offering insights into the programme’s impact. A video presentation followed,capturing the highlights and achievements of the OIPP journey. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates to the participants, celebrating their accomplishments and the success of this international collaborative initiative in higher education.
