The Cisco Networking Academy in UTB develops the knowledge and skills that our students and trainees need to thrive in a digital economy. We embed the Cisco curriculum in modules offered by the School of Computing and Informatics. We also work with educators, employers and technology experts to create customised courses leading to globally-recognised Cisco certifications that prepare trainees for entry-level IT jobs.

Cisco provides the curriculum, equipment, learning platform and supporting resources. UTB provides the instructors and additional equipment, and enrol students onto a proprietary learning platform that includes:

• an engaging, up-to-date curriculum created by experts in technology and instructional design.
• hands-on labs and online activities for the practical application of learned skills
• Cisco Packet Tracer, a network configuration simulation tool, used for teaching, gaming, and team building
• instructor guides, community forums, and professional development support instructors
• innovative online assessments include embedded activities, simulations, text questions, and performance-based reviews

CISCO CERTIFICATION

The Cisco Networking Academy provides courses to students/trainees that prepare them for certification exams that can be taken at certified exam centres in Brunei Darussalam. Our courses prepare students for the following certifications:

1. Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician Certification (CCENT)
   
   This is an entry-level certification and is the first half of a two-part CCNA certification process. This certification confirms the ability to install, operate and troubleshoot a small enterprise branch network, including basic network security. There are two courses that prepare students with little or no networking knowledge for the CCENT exam.

2. Cisco Certified Networking Associate Certification (CCNA)

   This certification confirms the ability to install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot medium-sized routed and switched networks, including implementation and verification of connections to remote sites in a WAN. There are two additional courses that take students beyond the CCENT level to complete the CCNA exam. For students with some experience, the course adds to skills and builds in-depth knowledge of networking.
