BSc (Hons) in Information Security is a three years programme which will focus on Information Security apart from studying basic computing modules. This programme consists of six semesters, where the last semester includes Capstone Project (formerly known as Final Year Project) and Industrial Attachment for students to gain hands-on industry experience.

Other Activities

  • Guest Lectures from Industry will be arranged now and then to introduce the latest technology and enhance the knowledge of Information security.
  • Relevant Industry visits will be arranged to enhance the theory learned at the University.
  • UTB has Cisco Networking Academy and Huawei Authorized Information and Network Academy (Huawei ICT Academy).
  • Students will be using the Cisco lab and Huawei lab for practical work, which will help them prepare for the Cisco and Huawei certifications.
  • Students will be encouraged to do Information and Cyber security related professional certifications like Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+), Cisco CCNA (Security), CCNP (Security), CISSP etc.
